ATC provides Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support ambulance transportation, along with the professionalism and coordination that families and facilities need to trust every trip.
Our service area includes Lake, LaPorte, Porter, and Marion County. While our headquarters are in Merrillville, our commitment to Gary and the surrounding communities remains a meaningful part of who we are.
Patients and families deserve more than transportation alone. ATC focuses on dignity, comfort, and respectful treatment from pickup to destination.
ATC supports local schools, fire departments, hospitals, and first responders because service should extend beyond the ride itself.
From ALS and BLS transport to strong coordination with facilities and staff, ATC is built to be dependable when reliability matters most.
ATC is proud to be the first African American wholly owned EMS company in Gary, Indiana, to receive ALS certification from the Indiana EMS Commission. That milestone is not just part of the company’s history. It reflects leadership, accountability, and a serious commitment to serving the community with excellence.
Our team members live in the communities they serve, which gives our work a different level of care and responsibility. The phrase “Neighbors Caring for Neighbors” is not just a motto. It is the operating standard behind the brand.
Alex Dunlap III has served as Chief Executive Officer since January 2017. His leadership has helped guide ATC’s growth across multiple Indiana counties while maintaining a clear focus on quality patient transportation and meaningful community presence.
His background from Purdue University in Computer Information Systems, System Analysis, and Design reflects both technical discipline and strategic thinking. Combined with his community involvement and forward-looking leadership, that experience supports a vision for EMS service that is reliable, organized, and built for long-term impact.
More than anything, Alex’s role reflects stewardship. The goal is not only to run a company, but to strengthen how patients, families, and facilities experience medical transportation in the communities ATC serves.
